About the role
The Construction Supervisor will lead on‑site construction and minor modification activities for oil and gas projects, ensuring delivery against schedule, cost, quality, health, safety and environment targets. The role focuses on producing accurate construction deliverables, managing subcontractors, and maintaining compliance with project and statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Define and optimise construction work scope, assess risks and track progress against Mechanical Completion.
- Interpret red lines, isometrics, P&IDs and other engineering drawings to ensure site work matches design intent.
- Use digital field technology to conduct site visits, review construction, and record daily progress.
- Coordinate subcontractor resources, equipment and daily allocations, and verify they have competent personnel.
- Calculate volumes, areas, weights and lengths on‑site to validate inputs and support progress reporting.
- Capture and communicate scope changes, manage punch‑list items and ensure timely demobilisation of tools and materials.
- Oversee QA/QC processes, complete Field ITPs and quality check sheets, and ensure subcontractors meet QA/QC standards.
- Prepare and sign off certification documents, attend daily project meetings and submit accurate daily reports.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years of construction supervision experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Technician’s Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to lead teams, delegate work, and make timely decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, high confidentiality, and a valid Certificate of Good Character (≤6 months old).
Required skills
- Ability to read and interpret red lines, isometrics, P&IDs and other engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with digital field technology for site inspections and progress tracking.
- Competence in calculating volumes, areas, weights and lengths on‑site.
- Knowledge of construction/project management tools, planning, scheduling and reliability concepts.
- Experience with QA/QC procedures, Field ITPs and quality check sheets.
- Proficient in standard computer applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.
