Social Media Officer

About the role

The Social Media Officer supports the day‑to‑day execution of Sagicor’s social media strategy in the assigned market. Working under the Assistant Manager – Social Media, the role creates locally relevant content, manages online communities and monitors performance to strengthen engagement and brand reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the market’s social media strategy, maintain the local content calendar and coordinate business‑unit, product and campaign requirements.
• Draft captions, content briefs and platform‑specific copy; schedule and publish approved posts using Agorapulse and Meta Business Suite.
• Provide live coverage of local events and produce post‑event content.
• Monitor and manage comments, direct messages and inbox queries, escalating complaints or reputational issues as needed.
• Assist with organic and paid social campaigns, track delivery, flag variances and support influencer coordination.
• Prepare monthly and campaign performance reports, maintain publishing records and ensure compliance with brand, privacy and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, digital media, public relations, business or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in digital/social content development, community management or campaign coordination.
• Strong knowledge of major social platforms, content formats and community‑management practices.
• Ability to interpret performance data and convert insights into actionable recommendations.
