3rd Engineer (2nd Assistant Engineer) for Offshore Jack‑up Rig

About the role

The 3rd Engineer (2nd Assistant Engineer) supports safe operation, maintenance, inspection and repair of mechanical and marine systems on an offshore jack‑up drilling rig, working under the Chief Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, generators, pumps, compressors and auxiliary mechanical systems.
• Monitor machinery performance, temperatures, pressures, fluid levels and report defects.
• Assist with troubleshooting, repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and related electrical equipment.
• Support rig power generation, distribution, ballast, seawater and freshwater pumping systems.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, regulatory requirements and participate in safety drills.

Required profile

• Previous experience on jack‑up drilling rigs or MODUs, including rig jacking and ballast systems.
• Familiarity with offshore regulatory standards (USCG, ABS, BSEE) and CMMS platforms such as AMOS or SAP.
• Valid certifications: T‑HUET or BOSIET or FOET, CAEBS, Merchant Mariner Credential with 2nd Assistant Engineer rating, USCG medical, USA passport, and relevant flag state documents.

Required skills

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting of diesel engines and power generation equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and marine auxiliary systems.
• Experience with CMMS tools (AMOS, SAP or equivalent).
