Environmental Specialist

About the role

We are looking to connect with an experienced Environmental Specialist to support professional services opportunities within Trinidad & Tobago's energy and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will provide environmental and HSSE expertise supporting operational and project activities, with particular emphasis on environmental compliance, Environmental Management Systems, environmental performance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and maintenance of Environmental Management Systems.
• Provide technical guidance on environmental compliance, regulations, standards and best practice.
• Support environmental performance monitoring and reporting.
• Conduct or support environmental site assessments, sampling and analysis activities.
• Provide technical input into environmental risk identification and assessment.
• Support HSSE activities associated with projects and operational activities.
• Advise stakeholders on environmental requirements and improvement opportunities.
• Support greenhouse gas emissions monitoring, data management and reporting.
• Contribute to climate, energy efficiency and environmental improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, project and HSSE teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in oil and gas, process plant, petrochemical, energy or comparable industrial environments.
• Practical experience implementing, maintaining or supporting an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, codes and industry practices.
• Experience with environmental site assessments, sampling, monitoring and analysis.
• Understanding of climate change, greenhouse gas emissions and carbon management.
