Group IT Cloud Administrator

About the role

Digicel, a digital connectivity and communications provider serving nine million customers across the Caribbean, Central and South America, is hiring a Group IT Cloud Administrator in Port of Spain. The role builds and deploys the Azure environment, monitors and responds to incidents and requests about the IT cloud infrastructure, and handles day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Azure cloud operation with real-time monitoring of deployed services and use portals to manage VMs and carry out daily maintenance
• Work with the Architect and Engineering functions to report bugs, speed up bug fixes and raise feature requests
• Monitor workloads for VM optimization and uptime, respond to alerts of application instability and identify root causes
• Manage load balancing, caching, web servers, application servers and databases
• Optimize cost and performance by right-sizing servers and services, and conduct regular health checks
• Add or remove servers, storage and software as needed, and help plan future infrastructure usage
• Secure systems with best practices, audit the environment regularly and perform server administration (installation, maintenance, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting)
• Assist with cloud strategy, adoption and governance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• Experience in an IT operational environment; cloud experience and experience with enterprise cloud solutions are assets
• History of customer-focused work, such as blog posts or how-to videos
• Experience analyzing, troubleshooting and solving technical issues

Required skills

• Azure certifications, AZ-104 preferred; ITIL considered an asset
• Hands-on experience with Azure Core Platform (Compute, Storage, Networking) on Windows and/or Linux
• Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to change, work with incomplete specifications and communicate clearly with business managers and technical teams
