Recreation Deputy Manager

About the role

V2X is seeking a Recreation Deputy Manager to oversee outdoor recreation and fitness programs for personnel assigned to the American Armed Forces Facility (AAAF). The role supports a wide range of services, from gym and CrossFit facilities to boat programs, swimming pools, sports courts, and movie theater operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise all outdoor and fitness recreation services in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and site manager guidance.
• Manage daily operations of the American Forces Network (AFN), recreation boat program, swimming pool, base gym, CrossFit gym, sports courts, and equipment checkout.
• Develop and schedule personal and group fitness classes, sports events, and outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping.
• Prepare monthly status reports identifying improvements and recommendations for recreation facilities.
• Ensure facilities and equipment are maintained to high standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
• Act as the primary fitness manager and trainer, providing direct instruction and oversight.
• Cover for the Recreation Manager during absences and coordinate staffing needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing recreation, fitness, or outdoor program operations, preferably in a military or government setting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate events, advertise activities, and liaise with command personnel.
• Leadership capability to supervise recreation staff and ensure compliance with policies.
