Senior Account Manager - North

About the role

The Senior Account Manager will drive new business acquisition and expand existing relationships within the target market, while ensuring sound credit judgement and effective loan portfolio administration. This role supports the unit’s strategic objectives and maintains high credit quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing strategies and pursue profitable new business opportunities.
• Approve credit applications within delegated limits and recommend higher‑level approvals when required.
• Maintain a regular call program with new and prospective customers to build and sustain banking relationships.
• Ensure each application complies with bank policies and procedures.
• Review internal credit decisions, monitor credit quality, and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay updated on bank policies, economic trends, legislation, accounting practices, and tax regulations.
• Manage remedial systems for audit‑identified deficiencies.
• Contribute to profitable growth by ensuring optimal pricing within policy guidelines.
• Identify credit training needs and develop staff to uphold portfolio risk standards.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Head of Commercial Banking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a professional qualification (CFA, CIMA, ACCA) with at least 5 years progressive banking experience, including 2 years at managerial level; or Executive Diploma/Diploma with 7 years experience, including 5 years managerial; or GMDP Certificate with 10 years experience, including 7 years managerial.
• Certifications in Accounting and Credit Risk are an asset.
• Strong knowledge of the economic environment, banking and financial services industry, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and understand bank products and services.
