Senior Technology Professional

About the role

This position reports directly to the Regional IT Lead and supports the Restaurant Support Centre and stores. It covers in-store applications, software, hardware and systems, as well as support for warehouse and RSC operations, and contributes to process improvement, systems development and transformation through technology. The role also involves LAN/WAN connectivity, servers and security/surveillance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain in-store, RSC and warehouse hardware and software
• Assist with process improvement, systems development and transformation, and develop IT support professionals and junior employees
• Manage LAN and WAN connectivity, servers, user accounts and third-party server and network applications
• Oversee security and disaster/recovery, and recommend changes to IT standards and policies
• Support purchasing of hardware, software, cabling and communication products, and document network configurations and procedures
• Troubleshoot network outages, install and configure PCs, UNIX workstations, file servers, modems, printers and other equipment
• Provide on-site support to retail locations and attend training to stay current with network trends
• Take responsibility for project management of assigned projects

Required profile

• BSc. degree in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent; MBA or MSc. in Computer Science is an asset
• Project management and programming experience are assets
• Valid driver's licence
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in TCP/IP networking on multi-protocol LANs
• NT/2000 fundamentals, Microsoft DHCP, DNS and Active Directory
• Ethernet VLANs, switched internetworking, VPN, frame-relay and Cisco products (CCNA, CCIE preferred)
• Protocol analyzers, SNMP, firewalls and CCTV/surveillance systems
