Logistics Assistant

About the role

The Logistics Assistant will coordinate the end‑to‑end supply chain process, handling deliveries, shipments, inventory, schedules and related documentation. You will act as the main point of contact between suppliers, brokers, transport companies and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify shipping documents for accuracy, including company details, item description, price and delivery address.
• Communicate with suppliers and brokers to confirm lead times, delivery dates, and obtain required original documents.
• Track containers, manage consolidation orders, and ensure timely clearance through import permits or licenses.
• Process purchase orders, costings and liaise with finance for duty, agent invoices and demurrage payments.
• Coordinate with transport companies, advise warehouse of arrivals, and support inventory receiving.
• Resolve shipment discrepancies, follow up on credits for short or damaged goods, and assist with any additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Five CSEC passes including Mathematics and English.
• 1–2 years of experience in logistics, purchasing or shipping.
• Detail‑oriented, customer‑focused and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends when required.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of the Great Plains (GP) system.
