Assistant Food and Beverage Director

About the role

The Assistant Food and Beverage Director supports the F&B Director in managing all aspects of the Food & Beverage division at Hyatt Regency Trinidad. This role focuses on forecasting, budgeting, training, and ensuring compliance with Hyatt standards and local regulations while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in short‑ and long‑term planning for front‑ and back‑of‑house operations, including budgets, marketing plans, and sales programs.
• Oversee employee development, payroll implementation, inventory control, and cost‑management initiatives.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless service and appropriate staffing for events.
• Handle guest complaints, conduct daily quality‑control walk‑throughs, and enforce health‑department regulations.
• Monitor purchasing, profit‑and‑loss statements, and labor costs to align with budgets and local labor laws.

Required profile

• Minimum six years progressive hotel experience, with at least three years in a management role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality/Tourism Management or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied schedules.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Advanced data analysis skills for decision‑making.
• Knowledge of wine and spirits and a valid food handler’s badge.
