Banquets Aide

About the role

Courtyard By Marriott in Port of Spain is looking for a Banquets Aide. The role covers the final breakdown of functions after events, including cleaning rooms and equipment, closing duties, setting up and maintaining work areas, and supporting guests with a professional, courteous approach.

Key responsibilities

• Complete the final breakdown of functions by cleaning the room and cleaning and returning equipment to its proper location.
• Complete closing duties such as storing reusable goods, locking doors and breaking down goods.
• Set up, stock and maintain work areas, and keep assigned stations and service areas clean, sanitary and organised.
• Transport dirty linen to the cleaning area, separate napkins from tablecloths, and restock linen shelves with clean linens.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the day with clean-as-you-go procedures and assist other departments when needed.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate their service needs and thank them sincerely.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep proprietary information confidential.
• Stand, sit or walk for long periods, move and lift objects up to 50 pounds unassisted and more with assistance, and perform other reasonable duties as requested.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No related work experience or supervisory experience required.
• Able to read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for an extended period and to move over uneven or slippery surfaces and stairs.
