International Consultant – Competency-Based Safe & Inclusive Schools Training Package

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced international consultant to design, pilot, and finalize a competency‑based teacher training package that strengthens safe and inclusive schools across the Caribbean. The role is remote and will run for three months.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a face‑to‑face, competency‑based training programme building on the existing Safe Schools online course.
• Incorporate practical skills, peer‑learning activities, and school‑level action planning into the curriculum.
• Produce a standardized regional training package that Ministries of Education and other institutions can adapt and deliver.
• Pilot the training with selected schools, gather feedback, and refine the materials.
• Deliver a final, ready‑to‑use training package and accompanying implementation guide.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree (Master’s or higher) in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, School Safety, Disaster Risk Management or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of progressive experience in education programme design, curriculum development, teacher professional development or competency‑based training.
• Demonstrated experience in Comprehensive School Safety, Disaster Risk Reduction in Education, Education in Emergencies, or school resilience.
