International Consultant for Competency‑Based Safe Schools Training Package

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced international consultant to design, pilot, and finalize a competency‑based teacher training package that strengthens safe and inclusive schools across the Caribbean. The assignment is remote and will run for three months.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a face‑to‑face, competency‑based training curriculum building on the existing Safe Schools online course.
• Create learning materials, facilitator guides, and action‑planning tools for school‑level implementation.
• Pilot the training with education professionals in selected Caribbean schools and incorporate feedback.
• Produce a standardized regional training package that ministries of education can adopt and adapt.
• Provide technical documentation and recommendations for scaling the programme.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree (Master’s or higher) in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, School Safety, Disaster Risk Management or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of progressive experience in education programme design, curriculum development, or competency‑based training.
• Demonstrated experience in school safety, disaster risk reduction in education, or education in emergencies.
