Junior Accounting Clerk - Treasury & Reporting

About the role

A client is looking for an accurate, efficient and detail-oriented Junior Accounting Clerk to join its Finance team. The role provides accounting and administrative support for day-to-day financial operations, focusing on treasury and management reporting, data in the Loan and Fixed Deposit databases, and service to internal and external stakeholders while complying with internal policies and financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Data management and ledger maintenance: prepare regular fixed deposit interest and maturity expense forms, enter and maintain database transactions, journals and interest accruals for the Loan and Fixed Deposit portfolios, and reconcile sub-ledgers with the General Ledger regularly.
• Transaction processing: process ACH and direct transfers for interest payments, maturity payouts, refunds, staff and vendor reimbursements, FX, investments and maintain files.
• Billing and client relations: generate and email client bills, and respond promptly to client inquiries, letters and audit confirmation requests.
• Financial reporting: produce delinquency trackers and custom portfolio reports for management and internal departments monthly or as required, plus ad hoc reports.
• Compliance and audit support: compile mandatory Central Bank compliance reports and prepare documentation for internal and external annual audits.

Required profile

• Pursuing ACCA (Level 1 or 2), or a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or transactional clerical environment; experience with loan portfolios, fixed deposits or banking/credit union finance operations is an asset.
• High mathematical precision, strong organisational and filing habits, and good verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in financial accounting software packages.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas and spreadsheets).
