Laboratory Analyst – HESQ Team

About the role
The Laboratory Analyst joins Yara's Health, Environment, Safety, and Quality (HESQ) team to deliver reliable analytical data that supports safe, efficient and environmentally responsible plant operations. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the role combines routine testing, technical guidance and continuous‑improvement activities in a dynamic industrial environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialised laboratory testing according to established methods and schedules.
- Coordinate daily testing activities, prioritising work based on plant and operational requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Laboratory Technicians to ensure accurate testing.
- Collect, prepare and analyse plant, product and environmental samples, and interpret results for operational decision‑making.
- Maintain laboratory records, calibration logs and ensure equipment reliability through inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Support environmental monitoring, gas testing for confined spaces and emergency ambient monitoring in line with EMA requirements.
Required profile
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Laboratory Technology or related scientific discipline.
- Minimum eight (8) years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in petrochemical, manufacturing, energy or process industries.
- Experience coordinating laboratory activities and providing technical guidance to staff.
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in data recording and reporting.
- Commitment to Health, Environment, Safety and Quality (HESQ) standards and continuous improvement.
Required skills
- Analytical testing techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
- Quality control practices and safe chemical handling.
- Use of laboratory information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Environmental monitoring and gas testing procedures.
- Equipment calibration and maintenance procedures.
