Driver

About the role

NIDCO, a Special Purpose State Enterprise established by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to deliver infrastructure projects, is recruiting a Driver. The Driver transports NIDCO personnel, documents, materials and equipment to and from specified destinations, follows the Vehicle Management Policy and other company policies, and may work outside normal hours and help load and unload supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned vehicles safely and courteously, transporting directors, management and staff on official business.
• Deliver and collect outgoing and incoming mail, documents and items as assigned.
• Complete and submit a daily driver safety checklist covering lights, tyres, wipers and horn, and follow vehicle safety and security procedures.
• Comply with the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act and related regulations.
• Maintain a logbook and daily mileage log, noting per-trip mileage, purpose and passengers.
• Perform minor emergency repairs on the road and report major defects to a superior.
• Carry out other duties required from time to time.

Required profile

• At least 3 CXC O Levels or a Secondary School Leaving Certificate.
• A valid Defensive Driving Certificate.
• At least 5 years' experience in a similar position and a valid driver's licence held for at least 5 years.
• Physically and mentally fit to drive, punctual and able to follow an agreed schedule.
