Procurement Officer Two (2 Positions)

About the role

The Procurement Officer works within the Procurement team, administering procurement processes in line with the Legislative Framework and corporate policies on purchases and contracts for services. The aim is to ensure the PTSC receives the best value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with departments and draft Requests for Proposals and/or Requests for Quotations for specific projects
• Take part in developing specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials
• Determine the best procurement method for activities arising from Purchase Requisitions
• Assist with public tender openings, review bid proposals and specifications, and prepare Tender Evaluation Documents for the Tender Evaluation Committee
• Use the OPR Procurement Depository database to source vendors and compare prices, delivery dates and specifications
• Follow up and track approved Purchase Orders from issuance to delivery of goods to Main Stores
• Perform other duties assigned by the job junction

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Management or a related discipline, or in Logistics, Procurement or Supply Chain Management, from an accredited institution
• Diploma in Procurement and Supply (CIPS or SPSM)
• Certification in legal training is an asset
• Minimum four years of experience in a procurement environment of a large, diverse organisation

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act (2015) and its rules and regulations in Trinidad and Tobago
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Professionalism and ethics
• Proficiency with relevant computer software
