Group Pensions Coordinator

About the role

Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited is seeking a detail‑oriented Group Pensions Coordinator to support the administration of group pension plans. The role involves processing contributions, maintaining member records, and delivering timely service to clients and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare pension calculations for retirements, refunds, withdrawals and deaths.
• Generate cheque requests and journal entries for benefit payments.
• Produce internal and external valuation reports and documents for Board and Trustee meetings.
• Enter contribution data accurately in the TOPAS pension administration system and keep membership details up to date.
• File pension‑plan correspondence promptly and prepare annual benefit statements.
• Respond to client queries courteously and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks.
• Provide updates for pension plan wind‑ups and train staff on departmental processes.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Team Leader.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a pension administration environment.
• 2‑3 years basic accounting knowledge.
• 5 CXC/CSEC passes including Mathematics and English, plus 2 A‑Level/CAPE passes including Mathematics.
• Completion of LOMA 280, 290 and ACS 100 (or related parts).
• Certificate of Character as required by Know Your Employee guidelines.
• Patient, tactful, diplomatic, approachable and friendly disposition.

Required skills

• Proficiency with TOPAS pension administration system.
• Basic accounting skills.
• Ability to perform pension calculations.
