Lifting and Rigging Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lifting & Rigging Specialist to support critical operations at a major industrial facility in Trinidad & Tobago. This contract position runs until at least 31 May 2027 and is ideal for a safety‑focused professional with deep technical knowledge of lifting and hoisting practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for lifting and hoisting operations.
• Review, support and improve lifting plans, risk assessments and execution strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable lifting and hoisting standards, procedures and regulations.
• Assist in the safe execution of critical lifts and complex rigging activities.
• Advise project and operations teams on equipment selection and safe lifting practices.
• Promote a strong safety culture and enforce operational controls.

Required profile

• BTech, Engineering degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised accredited institution, or a Technician Diploma.
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in an industrial facility, with at least five (5) years dedicated to lifting and hoisting.
• Alternatively, ten (10) years of industrial experience with five (5) years in lifting and hoisting.
• Relevant industry‑recognised lifting and hoisting certifications.
• Strong knowledge of industry regulations, standards and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence.
