Manager - Pricing & Product Development

About the role

Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited is looking for a strategic, commercially minded Manager - Pricing & Product Development. The role drives product innovation, oversees pricing strategies and strengthens product offerings and market competitiveness. It works with the Executive and Senior Manager to develop and implement valuation objectives and strategies, and reviews and supervises the work of analysts and senior actuarial analysts on pricing projects.

Key responsibilities

• Pricing: review actuarial analysts' work on pricing models, product development, profitability, commissions and quotations; coordinate testing of illustration and administration system updates; prepare pricing and strategic reports; complete rate filings, regulatory filings and competitor intelligence.
• Operational: sit on the Product Development Committee, help price or reprice products, and coordinate employee training and development.
• People management: lead performance management, coaching and leave management, improve staff processes, and handle escalated discipline and grievance matters.
• Strategic: work with the Executive/Senior Manager on department objectives, resource allocation and budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Fellow or Associate of the Society of Actuaries, Institute & Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent.
• At least 4 years' experience in a similar role, with at least 4 years in the life insurance industry.
• At least 3 years' experience managing people.
• Certificate of Character required due to Know Your Employee obligations.
