Ramp Attendant / Cargo Handler

About the role

Swissport is seeking motivated individuals to join its ramp and cargo handling team. You will work in a fast‑paced, regulated airport environment, supporting aircraft turn‑around and ensuring safe, efficient ground operations.

Key responsibilities

• Marshall aircraft on arrival and departure, applying cones and chocks as required.
• Communicate with the cockpit via headset when authorized.
• Inspect ramp areas for debris/FOD and remove it promptly.
• Unload and deliver wheelchairs, child strollers, mail, live animals and cargo to designated locations.
• Provide wheelchair assistance to passengers throughout the terminal.
• Load and unload passenger luggage, bulk cargo, pallets and containers onto carts, dollies or aircraft holds.
• Handle, sort, stack and store cargo packages, preparing and palletising shipments as needed.
• Ensure all cargo paperwork is accurate and comply with dangerous‑goods regulations.

Required profile

• CXC O’Level passes including Mathematics and English.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedural manuals.
• Basic arithmetic skills for handling measurements and quantities.
