Team Lead, Infra (Giger)

About the role

Deel is looking for a Team Lead to head the Giger infrastructure team. You will own a critical internal platform that provides fast, isolated sandbox environments for hundreds of engineers across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Giger team in designing, building, and operating the sandbox control plane.
• Manage Deel’s largest Kubernetes cluster (≈1,000 nodes, 35k pods) and ensure its reliability and scalability.
• Enable product teams to spin up production‑like environments in minutes, with real databases, services, queues, and storage.
• Develop tooling and infrastructure primitives that improve developer experience and accelerate delivery.
• Collaborate with platform engineering and product groups to drive infrastructure improvements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a high‑growth, SaaS environment.
• Strong background in platform engineering and developer experience.
• Track record of operating large‑scale Kubernetes environments.
• Ability to mentor engineers and foster a culture of experimentation and reliability.
