Cost Engineer – Energy Sector (Discipline & Senior Levels)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Cost Discipline Engineers and Senior Cost Discipline Engineers to support an active tender opportunity in Trinidad & Tobago's energy sector. The role provides cost engineering and financial oversight across project and turnaround portfolios, enabling effective budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cost engineering support for projects and turnaround activities, including budgeting, forecasting and cost‑performance monitoring.
• Monitor and report expenditures, commitments, cash‑flow projections and financial performance.
• Analyse cost performance, trends and variances and deliver insights to project teams.
• Support Earned Value monitoring (CPI, SPI) and stage‑gate decision processes.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years (Discipline Engineer) or 10 years (Senior) experience in the energy sector with proven cost engineering background.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed reports, graphs and presentations using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of stage‑gate processes, estimating, benchmarking and project management.
• Professional membership or certification with a recognised cost‑estimating body is an asset.
