Customs Documentation Clerk

About the role

Gulf Customs Brokerage and Logistics provides fast and reliable customs clearance services, covering the shipping, customs and logistics value chain. It is looking for a Customs Documentation Clerk to handle the paperwork and data behind customs entries.

Key responsibilities

• Classify imported and exported goods according to the applicable Customs Tariff.
• Prepare, review and process customs documentation and declarations.
• Verify invoices, packing lists and other supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure customs entries comply with laws, regulations, procedures and company policies.
• Process declarations through ASYCUDA and other relevant systems.
• Identify required permits, licences and supporting documentation.
• Monitor customs entries and follow up on assessments, queries and outstanding requirements.
• Liaise with customers and stakeholders to resolve documentation and customs matters.
• Maintain accurate customs records and files.

Required profile

• Customs Clerk Grade 2 or Grade 3.
• At least three years' experience in customs brokerage or a similar position.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, procedures and documentation.
• Knowledge of tariff classification and customs valuation.
• Good communication, organizational and computer skills; strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience with ASYCUDA and other customs/logistics software.
• Time and deadline management, customer service orientation, problem solving and teamwork.
