Electronic Technician – Semisubmersible Rig

About the role

Due to a recent contract award, Deepsea Mira is crewing up for the wider Caribbean area and is recruiting an Electronic Technician. The contract is estimated at 150 days plus options, with operations expected to start in April 2027; vacant positions are expected to start mobilising from January 2027. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair control systems, instrumentation, navigation, communication systems, networks and associated equipment on the unit.
• Ensure maintenance procedures for rig gauges, test equipment and similar are followed up.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary maintenance and carry out planned preventative maintenance according to the company's maintenance program.
• Install new electronic equipment and control and hook up equipment supplied by service companies, integrating it into the rig systems.
• Maintain housekeeping in the electronic workshop and other areas of responsibility.
• Update and report red marks on documentation for onboard electrical systems and equipment.
• On duty, hold professional responsibility for the systems within your area, including isolation in line with the Permit to Work system and safe, professional work.
• Contribute to providing consumables, parts and tools needed for maintenance.

Required profile

• Formal education in engineering automation, electronics and computer systems, which can be compensated by other relevant competence.
• Documented relevant experience in offshore/maritime operations on board a MODU or floating installation.
• Fluent written and oral English.
• Knowledge of electrical installations in hazardous areas (Ex) and the rules and regulations governing them.
