Supervisor – Financial Accounting (Grade 3)

About the role

The Financial Accounting Department of Sagicor Capital Life is seeking a Grade 3 Supervisor to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting and support external audit activities. The role reports to senior finance management and plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting functions, ensuring timely processing of transactions and maintenance of the General Ledger in SunSystem.
• Oversee asset and liability management, including provision for uncollectible receivables.
• Coordinate the annual external audit, prepare schedules, review audit files, and implement audit recommendations.
• Prepare and sign‑off monthly line‑of‑business reports, management reports, executive briefs, board papers, and quarterly financial packages for consolidation.
• Produce regulatory and liquidity reports, complete MCCSR templates, and review inter‑company account analysis.
• Review monthly bank reconciliation files and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Assist with department staffing, performance appraisals, and provide finance advice to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Level 2 ACCA qualification or equivalent (CGA, CPA).
• Minimum three years of experience in financial accounting or audit within a corporate environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SunSystem General Ledger software.
