About the role
The Gender and Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist will support the five‑year GEF‑funded project “BioResilience: Nature‑based solutions for resilient landscapes in Trinidad and Tobago”. Working part‑time within the University of the West Indies Project Management Unit, the incumbent will ensure gender considerations are fully integrated into project design, implementation and reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Review project objectives, outcomes, outputs and activities to identify gender implications and address existing social and gender inequalities.
- Confirm and apply a methodology for capturing gender dimensions, using gender‑sensitive indicators to track impacts on women, men and youth.
- Design and implement a comprehensive Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) system, including data‑collection tools and assessment methodologies.
- Specify and support the use of data‑collection and assessment tools by the Project Management Unit, external partners and stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance to embed gender mainstreaming, social inclusion, M&E and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with beneficiaries, government agencies, implementing partners and consultants to strengthen performance and ensure equitable benefits.
Required profile
- National of Trinidad and Tobago.
- Experience in gender mainstreaming and M&E within development or environmental projects.
- Strong understanding of nature‑based solutions, climate‑resilience and biodiversity conservation.
- Ability to work under the supervision of the National Technical Project Coordinator and in coordination with FAO, UWI and the Project Steering Committee.
