Merchandise Planning Analyst

About the role

The Merchandise Planning Analyst provides analytical, administrative and operational support to the Purchasing function for both manufactured and finished goods. Working closely with the Purchasing team, the analyst helps drive inventory management, product planning and data‑driven buying decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain merchandise distribution sheets and support store transfers based on inventory needs.
• Monitor sell‑through, stock levels, cover and reorder points; compile store requests for the Purchasing team.
• Provide purchasing data support in LS Business Central, maintain purchase order data and reconcile invoices.
• Create and maintain Excel‑based reports and Power BI dashboards; consolidate sales, inventory and product data.
• Maintain internal line sheets, update store‑facing product knowledge materials using Canva, and ensure product information is accurate.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Purchasing Team Lead.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain or related field (preferred).
• 2–4 years of experience in merchandise planning, purchasing, inventory management or retail analysis.
• Proven ability to analyse sales, inventory, purchasing and profitability data to support decisions.
• Strong analytical mindset, critical thinking and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (data modelling, formulas, reporting).
• Power BI report and dashboard development.
• Experience with ERP/inventory systems, preferably LS Business Central.
• Canva for creating product knowledge materials.
