Sales Representative - Garage Salesman

About the role

This full-time position in Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago, is responsible for selling the company's lubricants, filters and car care products to garages and automotive service centres across the country. The sales representative identifies new opportunities, informs regular customers of new products, meets sales targets and may also deliver orders and collect payments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and follow a visit route covering the whole country, serving existing customers regularly and visiting potential customers to add them to the customer network.
• Manage customer transactions, payments and outstanding accounts, and prepare quotations.
• Collect cash and cheques for COD and credit invoices, reconcile payments and remit them to the company cashier or bank daily.
• Sign all documentation such as invoices, returns and claims; monitor emails and WhatsApp and refer complex cases to the supervisor.
• Deliver urgent orders where possible and monitor competition by tracking pricing, products and delivery schedules.
• Provide product knowledge, resolve customer complaints and recommend changes in products, service and policy.
• Complete the Salesman's Daily Report each day and report any issues affecting performance, the company or health and safety.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle, observe safety rules and company policies, and work overtime on holidays or weekends when needed.

Required profile

• 5 CXC or GCE passes, including Mathematics and English.
• 3 years of sales experience.
• Sales training is an asset; knowledge of the automotive industry is an asset.
• Willingness to work overtime on holidays or weekends and to stay on call for clients.

• Ability to work independently, set priorities and work as part of a team.
• Microsoft Office computer literacy.
