Senior Manager – Cost Intelligence & Containment

About the role

The Senior Manager – Cost Intelligence & Containment will lead enterprise‑wide initiatives to improve cost visibility, enforce spend discipline and generate sustainable savings. Reporting to the President of GSSL / Group COO, the role acts as a neutral change agent, partnering with finance, procurement and operations to turn data into actionable cost‑reduction strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the COO to translate operational and financial data into performance insights, forecasts and recommendations.
• Conduct system‑level cost and consumption analyses to identify leakage, duplication and inefficiencies across shared services and business units.
• Maintain and enhance executive dashboards and early‑warning indicators for cost, efficiency and operational performance.
• Design, own and govern the Group’s Cost Containment Framework, setting standards, processes and cross‑functional governance.
• Challenge budgets, spend assumptions and supplier engagements with data‑backed authority.
• Drive cross‑functional cost‑containment execution, embed controls and ensure sustainability of results.
• Identify productivity gains, resource synergies and process‑streamlining opportunities across HR, IT, Facilities, Procurement and other shared services.
• Develop cost‑optimisation business cases, targeting savings, ROI and acceptable payback periods.
• Prepare quarterly Group performance dashboards, operational effectiveness reports and cost‑management updates for senior leadership.
• Maintain a rolling “Efficiency Tracker” consolidating Group‑level savings and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost intelligence, cost containment or financial performance management within a large, complex organization.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn large data sets into clear, actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to work across finance, procurement, operations and senior leadership.
• Track record of designing and implementing enterprise‑wide cost‑containment frameworks.
• Ability to manage multiple cross‑functional projects and deliver measurable savings.
