Financial Reporting Assistant (Contract)

About the role

The Financial Reporting Assistant will support the preparation of the Corporation's financial statements, schedules and regulatory reports in line with IFRS. This contract position requires a detail‑oriented professional who can ensure accurate recording of transactions and timely delivery of reports.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Develop analytical schedules and supporting working papers for the financial statements.
• Review and correct transaction recordings to ensure compliance with IFRS and group accounting policies.
• Maintain detailed journal documentation and assist in drafting notes to the financial statements.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, payroll reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Record and reconcile treasury transactions, including brokerage account postings.
• Prepare regulatory reports such as MMRF and corporate tax calculations.
• Calculate and file bi‑monthly VAT returns and draft corporation tax returns.
• Lead or support ad‑hoc finance projects to improve departmental efficiency.

Required profile

• First degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
• Pursuing the final level of a professional accounting designation (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CMA).
• Minimum three to five years of experience preparing financial statements under IFRS.
• Two to three years of supervisory experience.
• High level of confidentiality, integrity and customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Experience with financial statement preparation and technical accounting.
• Proficiency in general ledger and sub‑ledger reconciliation.
• Ability to process and reconcile treasury and brokerage transactions.
• Competence in corporate tax, VAT calculations and regulatory reporting.
