Junior Accountant

About the role

The Junior Accountant will support day‑to‑day financial operations, including recording transactions, processing invoices, and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable. This full‑time, on‑site role is based in Tunapuna‑Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago, working closely with the accounting team to ensure reliable financial data for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Record transactions and process invoices, supporting accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare basic financial reports and reconcile bank statements.
• Maintain accurate ledgers and support month‑end closing activities.
• Assist with budget tracking, expense verification, and ensure organized financial records in line with company policies.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support internal audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including journal entries, reconciliations, and basic financial reporting.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior internship or entry‑level experience in accounting or finance is an asset; experience in events or hospitality is beneficial.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work reliably in a fast‑paced, event‑focused environment.
• Commitment to ethical financial practices, confidentiality, and continuous learning in accounting standards and tools.
