About the role
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is seeking a Programme Management Assistant to support the Director of the Subregional Headquarters for the Caribbean. This role provides essential administrative and coordination support for a large, complex programme of work.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning, implementation and monitoring of programme initiatives under the Director’s office.
- Coordinate preparation of project proposals, track their status and ensure timely submission for approval.
- Provide executive support including schedule management, meeting coordination, drafting and reviewing correspondence, and preparing translations.
- Serve as liaison with internal and external stakeholders, handling communications and updates.
- Organise travel arrangements, maintain contact databases and ensure continuity of office operations during absences.
- Draft, edit and circulate reports, summaries and other documents, coordinating review, translation and publication processes.
- Maintain electronic and paper filing systems, generate periodic reports, statistical tables and graphic content.
- Guide and train junior staff and assist with data collection, analysis and presentation preparation.
Required profile
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
- Experience supporting senior management in a multinational or intergovernmental environment.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
