Vice President Investments & Managing Director (Trinidad & Tobago)

About the role

This dual‑role position leads the strategic growth of RBC’s investment business in Trinidad & Tobago while also serving as Managing Director of West Indies Stockbrokers Limited (WISE). The incumbent will drive client acquisition, deliver investment solutions, and ensure robust governance and regulatory compliance for both entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead growth and market expansion strategies to increase revenue and market share.
• Deliver client‑focused investment solutions in collaboration with specialist teams.
• Build, coach and develop a high‑performing investment team.
• Embed sound risk management, compliance and regulatory practices into business decisions.
• Provide governance and regulatory leadership for WISE, maintaining Board effectiveness and regulator relationships.
• Champion operational excellence and resolve audit/compliance matters promptly.
• Strengthen market and stakeholder relationships with clients, regulators, government and community partners.

Required profile

• Graduate degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 10‑12 years of relevant experience in Sales and Capital Markets, including 5‑7 years at senior managerial level.
• Broad financial‑services industry knowledge, including applicable regulations and banking operations.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high‑performing teams while achieving business results.
• Experience with legal‑entity governance, Board reporting and regulated financial‑services operations.
• Strategic and critical thinker with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Exceptional relationship‑building and collaboration abilities across organizational boundaries.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
