Cost Controller / Senior Cost Controller – Energy Projects (Trinidad & Tobago)

About the role

The company is seeking experienced Cost Controllers and Senior Cost Controllers to support an active tender opportunity in Trinidad & Tobago's energy sector. The role involves providing cost control and project controls support across projects and turnaround activities, ensuring effective financial governance, budgeting and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyse and report project costs against approved budgets.
• Develop and maintain cost forecasts and expenditure projections.
• Track commitments, actual expenditure and cost performance.
• Identify, analyse and report cost variances and emerging trends.
• Support budgeting, estimating and cost‑control activities.
• Provide cost information and analysis to support project decision‑making.
• Collaborate with project, engineering, procurement, finance and other stakeholders.
• Ensure effective cost governance throughout project and turnaround execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Mathematics, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the energy sector for Cost Controller role; 8 years for Senior role, including at least 3–5 years in cost engineering or cost control.
• Proven experience with cost‑management and reporting systems such as SAP.
• Working knowledge of cost estimating, benchmarking, construction, finance, procurement and supply‑chain processes.
• Professional certification with a recognised cost‑estimating body is an asset.
