Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

About the role

Massy Wood is seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to lead the preparation, checking and technical assurance of discipline design deliverables for oil and gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, originate and check discipline design deliverables, ensuring safety, cost‑effectiveness and client value.
• Attend and contribute to technical meetings, design reviews, HAZOPs and constructability assessments as delegated.
• Provide discipline input to procurement, construction activities and project execution plans.
• Supervise discipline personnel, enforce project management systems and capture lessons learned.

Required profile

• First degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc or BEng) with at least 8 years of relevant oil & gas experience.
• Membership of a professional engineering body preferred and a valid Certificate of Good Character (≤6 months).
• Demonstrated competence as a Senior I&C Engineer within the Massy Wood competency system.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and work onsite in Trinidad & Tobago.

Required skills

• Instrumentation and controls engineering design and verification.
• HAZOP and design review participation.
• Use of discipline-specific software and tools for IDC prints and vendor documentation.
• Technical assurance of discipline deliverables and supervision of engineering personnel.
