Accountant – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

E Couriers Limited is seeking an experienced and analytical Accountant to join the Finance Team on a six‑month contract. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing cash flow, reviewing accounting transactions, supporting junior team members, and delivering financial insights to aid strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
• Prepare management accounts for subsidiaries and the group.
• Provide financial analysis and commentary on revenue, expenses, liquidity, profitability, and cash flow.
• Monitor the company's financial health and advise management on financial viability.
• Review accounting entries in QuickBooks for accuracy.
• Manage receivables and review supplier payments.
• Oversee month‑end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review VAT returns and ensure statutory taxes are paid on time.
• Prepare payroll and ensure timely salary payments.
• Coordinate the preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Support, guide, and supervise Accounting Assistants.
• Prepare financial projections and reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and cash flow management.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
