Senior Accountant

About the role

MILA Trinidad is expanding its finance team to support YOOZ, the leading digital payment and bill collection platform in Trinidad and Tobago. As a Senior Accountant / Finance Lead you will be the primary owner of the company’s accounting function, ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance and providing strategic insight as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for the YOOZ platform, including month‑end and year‑end close.
• Lead preparation, review and submission of compliance and regulatory reports.
• Manage and develop the accounts team, fostering a high‑performance environment.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and support budgeting processes.
• Coordinate external audits and implement improvements to accounting policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in fintech or payments.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or an equivalent credential.
• Proven ability to lead accounting functions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
