Accounting Assistant – Reconciliation Support

About the role

Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited is looking for a detail‑oriented Accounting Assistant to support its reconciliation team. The role focuses on clearing low‑risk reconciliation items, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with cash‑management reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Complete low‑risk reconciliation tasks and investigate legacy items dating back to 2024 and earlier.
• Achieve targeted resolution rates (e.g., 80% of aged items resolved within set timeframes).
• Prepare and update Indebtedness Statements for staff and agents, meeting turnaround expectations.
• Assist the bank team with cash‑management reporting and ensure daily summary sheets are submitted by 10 am.
• Monitor and respond to mailbox communications for the OR and Bank Reconciliations teams within 24‑72 hours.
• Lead end‑to‑end mini‑projects, conducting deep‑dive analyses of specific transaction categories and reporting findings to the lead.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 CXC/CSEC passes, including Mathematics and English Language.
• 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or finance environment.
• Certificate of Character to satisfy Know Your Employee regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, systematic work approach, and ability to handle large volumes of numerical data accurately.
