Ground Support Equipment Mechanic

About the role

Swissport is seeking a dedicated Mechanic to service and maintain ground support equipment at its airport stations worldwide. You will ensure that all ramp vehicles, forklifts, golf carts and other equipment are safe, reliable and compliant with local regulations and Swissport standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and road‑tests of motor vehicles, forklifts and golf carts.
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules, including fluid checks, filter changes, lubrication and brake adjustments.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues, and carry out repairs or part replacements.
• Maintain accurate work orders, inspection forms and daily reports for management review.
• Manage inventory of parts and supplies, recording receipts and usage.
• Prepare equipment for airside access inspections and respond to on‑call maintenance requests after hours.
• Fabricate, modify, paint and install special equipment or replacement parts as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience maintaining and repairing ground support equipment in an aviation or industrial environment.
• Ability to work independently, follow safety procedures and adhere to Swissport SOPs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately.
