Senior Team Leader – IFRS Reconciliations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Team Leader to oversee the IFRS reconciliation process for Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited. The role combines technical oversight of IFRS 17 compliance with supervisory responsibility for a high‑performing finance team delivering accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the clearing and closure of reconciliation items across multiple years, targeting an 80 % resolution rate for aged items.
• Maintain and update the Reconciliation Matrix, tracking ownership, timelines and remediation actions.
• Ensure all reconciling items meet IFRS 17 requirements and monitor audit‑related action plans.
• Prepare documentation, audit trails and control assessments for internal and external audits.
• Produce monthly progress reports by the 15th, highlighting status, challenges and balance movements.
• Lead day‑to‑day supervision of the reconciliation team, coordinating cross‑functional issue resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading finance or accounting teams, preferably within insurance or pension environments.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS standards, especially IFRS 17.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large‑scale reconciliation backlogs and meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on compliance.
