Trader I (Non-Management Grade 6)

About the role

First Citizens Investment Services Limited invites applications for an Expression of Interest for the position of Trader I (Non-Management Grade 6) for a six-month period. The incumbent trades shares on the local stock exchange on behalf of clients and the company's portfolios, generates trading income and maintains and grows the Assets Under Administration in the domestic market.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily trading on the Global Vision platform, entering, deleting and modifying orders
• Perform all trading in line with regulatory requirements and deliver best-in-class customer service
• Identify trading opportunities such as upcoming IPOs and undervalued stocks
• Handle client requests and enquiries, escalating to the Supervisor or Manager when needed
• Maintain trading records and reports for management
• Market the Group's products and give presentations to clients
• Work with the Line of Business Settlements Group to ensure timely and accurate trade settlement
• Reverse trades and take corrective action on trading errors detected by the Operations Department
• Generate end-of-day trade summaries for submission to ICT for processing to T24
• Assist in brokerage training for staff, distributors and the retail network

Required profile

• Associates degree in a business-related field
• At least five years of experience in securities trading or a related field
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong oral and written communication, time management and presentation skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of the Group's software systems, products and services
