Operations Support Officer - Banking

About the role

RBC is hiring an Operations Support Officer in its Personal & Commercial Banking unit in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The role covers the fulfillment and servicing of complex client transactions, drawing on extensive knowledge of related RBC products and services, and acts as a referral point for policy, process and procedure questions while supporting Client First and compliance with Operational Risk, Compliance and AML requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consistent support and service within established benchmarks, contributing to Client Service Commitments and Service Level Agreements.
• Take ownership of complex client issues and concerns at first point of contact, and act as a referral point and subject matter expert for sales and service staff.
• Proactively identify recurring errors, service gaps and operational inefficiencies, and recommend solutions and improvements.
• Develop, manage and act on a Personal Development Plan to keep skills, knowledge and accreditations up to date.

Required profile

• Degree in Business or Accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent training.
• At least three years of experience specifically in accounting or finance.
• Strong understanding of banking procedures, policies and industry standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization and time management, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, volume-driven environment.

Nice to have

• Current market activity knowledge.
• Working knowledge of related applications and tools, and willingness to learn new systems.
• Knowledge of capital markets, fixed income, equities, brokerage services and wealth management.
