Relationship Manager – Commercial Banking

About the role

The Relationship Manager role focuses on professional relationship management and delivering tailored financial advice within the Commercial Banking segment. You will leverage your sales talent, financial analysis expertise, and client‑acquisition experience to grow and retain a portfolio of business clients.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire, manage, retain and grow a portfolio of commercial banking clients through prospecting and value‑added service.
• Provide customized financial and business advice that meets each client’s unique needs.
• Collaborate with internal partners to design and execute a client‑contact strategy using virtual and digital channels, conduct business service reviews, and identify growth opportunities.
• Utilise One RBC resources to generate referrals and connect clients with appropriate RBC partners.
• Perform portfolio and risk management by reviewing financial statements, spotting trends, monitoring risk, and structuring suitable credit solutions.
• Champion digital enablement by promoting and demonstrating RBC’s digital and multi‑channel solutions to clients and colleagues.

Required profile

• University degree in commerce, finance, business administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in commercial, business or corporate banking.
• Proven ability to originate sales and deliver high‑quality client relationship management.
• Strong credit skills, including risk assessment, financial analysis, credit structuring and deal presentation.
• Demonstrated new‑client acquisition capabilities such as pitching, lead generation, cold calling and referral solicitation.
• Excellent collaboration, communication and presentation abilities.
• Comfort with emerging communication technologies and digital banking platforms.
