About the role
The Senior Manager – Cost Intelligence & Containment will act as the analytical partner to the Group COO, providing data‑driven insight to improve cost visibility, discipline and proactive spend management across the organisation. This neutral change‑agent role sits within the GSSL execution hub and reports directly to the President of GSSL/Group COO.
Key responsibilities
- Translate operational and financial data into actionable performance insights, forecasts and recommendations for the COO.
- Lead system‑level cost and consumption analysis to identify leakage, duplication and inefficiencies across shared services and business units.
- Maintain and enhance executive dashboards and early‑warning indicators for cost, efficiency and operational performance.
- Establish and own the Group’s Cost Containment Framework, setting standards, processes and governance for cost management.
- Drive cross‑functional cost‑containment execution, embedding controls, eliminating waste and ensuring sustainability of results.
- Identify productivity gains, resource synergies and process‑streamlining opportunities across HR, IT, Facilities, Procurement and other shared services.
- Prepare quarterly Group Performance Dashboards, Operational Effectiveness Reports and cost‑management updates for senior leadership.
- Manage governance, spend allocation and impact measurement for the Guardian Group Foundation and ESG initiatives.
Required profile
- Strategic, analytical leader with a passion for cost efficiency and operational excellence.
- Proven experience in deep consumption analysis, spend management and cross‑functional cost‑containment initiatives.
- Strong ability to challenge budgets, spend assumptions and operational procedures with data‑backed authority.
- Experience working with finance, procurement and operations teams in a large, multi‑territory organisation.
