Risk Management Associate (AML)

About the role

EY is looking for a Risk Management Associate in Port of Spain who will join a small team and report to the Risk Management (AML) Co-ordinator. The role supports the firm's compliance in all areas of financial crime risk, including anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, anti-bribery, sanctions and tax evasion. It sits within the professional services environment where risk management underpins the delivery of client services.

Key responsibilities

• Support AML/KYC operations for projects implemented for financial sector institutions
• Search for and critically analyse information, prepare documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external laws and regulations
• Carry out periodic customer reviews and selected CDD/EDD procedures
• Create and verify KYC profiles and AML files
• Provide training and communications to raise awareness and update the firm's knowledge repository
• Manage technical financial crime queries from client-facing staff
• Take part in other areas of general risk management and compliance

Required profile

• Previous experience in an institution with a financial or consulting profile, preferably in AML, KYC and/or compliance
• Degree-level education; a professional qualification such as ACAMS, ICA or another regulatory compliance qualification is desirable
• Ability to give substantiated arguments and strong communication skills with a wide range of staff

Required skills

• Previous experience in AML/CFT and basic knowledge of AML/CFT processes
• Knowledge of AML processes, including KYC/CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring or sanctions
• Analytical skills, teamwork and networking ability
• Negotiation and influencing skills
• Planning and organising skills to prioritise tasks and projects
